“A Life of Separation”
“Una Vida de Separación”

 II Corinthians / Corintios 6:17

A life of commitment is a life of separation.  Without separation there is no fellowship in the Christian life.  On the contrary, without fellowship there cannot be a separation in the walk and service of the Christian.  So we need to be motivated to a life of separation and be willing to support the prohibitions of such a life.  For to live a life of commitment we need to live holy lives, lives that are separated unto God.

A.      Motivated unto a Life of Separation / Motivado a una Vida de Separación   II Corinthians 6:11-12

                1)      Not having Impious Associations /  No tener Asociaciones Impiadosas

        a)      Loyalty to Jesus Christ leaves no room for concessions with the devil – Joshua 24:15

“…choose you this day whom ye will  serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood,
or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” /

“…escogeos hoy a quien sirváis; si a los dioses a quines sirvieron vuestros padres, cuando estuvieron al otro lado del rió, a
los dioses de los amorreos en cuya tierra habitáis; pero yo y mi casa serviremos a Jehová.”

         b)      Loyalty to Jesus Christ does not permit opportunities to profane our lives – whether in teachings, union of
marriage,  and in the social and or business world.                     I Timothy 1:3; II Timothy 4:3

                  2)      Removing Ourselves from Impious Contaminations /  Retirarnos de Contaminaciones Impiadosas

         c)      The Christian in similar situation must remove himself immediately

         d)      God gives us the ability to walk in the path of a true separation so that we can fulfill divine requisites
and life promises – A Life of Commitment.

  Application:

The best of God’s work can be rendered only by someone who is prepared to “come out”.  Someone who is willing to separate himself from all and any association that gets in the way of giving his best.  God deserves the best and you are His best.  So be motivated, do all that is necessary to fulfill all that you have promised God – Be Committed.

Conclusion:

A Person of Commitment is A Person Separated unto God
Una Persona Comprometida es Una Persona Separada para Dios

The Blessing of His Presence
La Bendición de Su Presencia
I Chronicles 13:13-14 / I Crónicas 13:13-14

When one has forgiven another, there ought to be a complete change in the relationship that follows.  That change, however, does not mean that everyone must immediately forget the past.  There is no such commandment in the Scriptures.
1)      There is no commandment telling us to forget. /
No hay mandamiento diciéndonos que olvidemos.

Forgiveness is not a shock treatment that instantly wipes out memory of the recent past.  On occasions there may continue to be some fear that the same transgression may be committed again.  But in time, forgetting must follow forgiving.
2)      In time, forgetting must follow forgiving. /

But if not, then there has to be a reason.  One of the most related reasons is brooding. (Darle vueltas a algo)--brooding over the offense in self-pity. (Autocompasión)

3)      Self-pity does not help us to forget. /
La autocompasión no nos ayuda a olvidar.

Such brooding is decidedly unscriptural and does not fit into the biblical concept of forgiveness.
4)      Forgiveness - no longer dwelling on the sin forgiven.  /

When you have forgiven there is a complete change in the relationship with your ex-offender.  Sometimes it’s not immediate, but you cannot use time as an excuse not to forget.  There is no commandment telling you to forget, but there is Scripture telling you to forgive.  Jesus said,

“Take heed to yourselves.  If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.  And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.” (Luke 17:3, 4)

“Mirad por vosotros mismos.  Si tu hermano pecare contra ti, reprendedle; y si se arrepintiere, perdónale.  Y si siete veces al día pecare contra ti, y siete veces al día volviere a ti, diciendo: Me arrepiento; perdónale.” (Lucas 17:3, 4

Forgiveness is the promise not to raise the issue again     to my offender, to others, or to myself,  AND THEN WILL I BE ABLE TO FORGET
