FASTING ILLUMINATES GOD’S WORD

For the Scriptures say, ‘He will order his angels to protect you. And they will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’” Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not tempt the Lord your God.’”” - Matthew 4:5-7
“Después el diablo lo llevó a la santa ciudad, Jerusalén, al punto más alto del templo, y dijo: —Si eres el Hijo de Dios, ¡tírate! THE ENEMY TEMPTS US AT OUR LEVEL
EL ENEMIGO NOS TENTA A NUESTRO NIVEL
- Jesus knew what was waiting for him in the desert — so he Fasted.
- Satan - Tempter - entices, allures, people to do what is unwise, wrong, or immoral.
- Satan - Cherubim: Powerful winged creature; Guards what belongs to God; Constant worshiper.
- The enemy rises to our level of understanding, anointing, & maturity.
- Because it’s Jesus, & His Fasting, Satan himself has to be the 1 to rise to the task of tempting God.
“During that time the devil came and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.” But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, ‘People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”” - Matthew 4:3-4

FASTING ILLUMINATES GOD’S WORD
EL AYUNO ILUMINA LA PALABRA DE DIOS
- Illumination casts light on the Word.
- Flashlight on Bible.
- Illumination removes the “IF” doubt.
- 2 Timothy / Timoteo 1:10 - Jesus illuminated the way to life through the Gospel - light up.
- Fasting elevates us to greater clarity of the Word.
“Then the devil took Him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off!

THE TEMPTER IS STRONG AND KNOWS MUCH
EL TENTADOR ES FUERTE Y CONOCE MUCHO
- The tempter is very capable & extremely wise.
- Cherubim - protector of what belongs to God.
- Genesis 3:24 - God placed placed a mighty cherubim - to protect - from Adam, Eve, & Devil.
- Adam and Eve are perfect human beings – 900 years – can resist the presence of God.
- Psalms / Salmos 91:11-12 - Satan spoke, word by word, Word of God — but for evil.
- Satan, The Tempter, is strong & knows much - but God is all-powerful & all-knowing.
- And God is for us & in us - who can be against us?
- Especially when we Fast - Why? Fasting elevates us to greater capacity through the Word.
“Next the devil took Him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. “I will give it all to You,” he said, “if You will kneel down and worship me.” “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say, ‘You must worship the Lord your God and serve only Him.’”” - Matthew 4:8-10

THE DEVIL AIMS AT OUR LEVEL OF INFLUENCE
EL DIABLO APUNTA A NUESTRO NIVEL DE INFLUENCIA
- The Tempter knows God & His influence.
- He also has an idea of our influence ability.
- Acts / Hechos 19:15 - The evil spirits tell the sons of Sceva, we know Jesus & we recognize Paul.
- Ezekiel/Ezequiel 28:14- Lucifer - guardian - access to God’s holy mountain - would’ve had a good idea of God’s Influence over the world.
- Jesus kneeling / worshiping Lucifer would’ve affected His influence - tarnished His authority seen lesser than Lucifer - Tempter aims well.
- Matthew / Mateo 17:21 - to influence demons to get out, it’s only through prayer and fasting.
- Fasting elevates our level of influence in the spirit realm.
“Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.” - Matthew 4:11
“Entonces el diablo se fue, y llegaron ángeles a cuidar a Jesús.” - Mateo 4:11
“When the devil had finished tempting Jesus, he left him until the next opportunity came.” - Luke 4:13
"Cuando el diablo terminó de tentar a Jesús, lo dejó hasta la siguiente oportunidad.” - Lucas 4:13
GREAT TEMPTATIONS ARE SEASONAL
LAS GRANDES TENTACIONES SON POR TEMPORADA
- Some temptations are greater than others.
- We’re tempted every day: Food; White lies; Break a traffic law.
- Some temptations are greater - The Tempter entices us to go against God in greater ways.
- Jesus Fasted 40 Days & was able to overcame an extreme temptation.
- But the Tempter always elevates the temptation for the next opportunity / season.
- Last week of Jesus on earth - very consecrated - anointed, humbled, communion, worship, pray - next they’re going to elevate Him on the cross - It’s time to fulfill His high purpose in life.
- At Gethsemane, twice He asked the Father if He could change the plans.
“Jesús oró: 'Padre, si es posible, por favor sálvame de este momento de gran dolor. Pero Padre, no te pido que hagas lo que yo quiero. Haz lo que quieras hacer.” – Mateo 26:39
“Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak!”” - Matthew 26:41
- Mateo 26:41
- The greatest temptation always comes right before you’re about to elevate to greater things.
- Like Jesus we Consecrate to Overcome any temptation, whether great or small.
- You will go through temptations in life.
- But you have the means to overcome any temptation.
- Christ is in you …
“Debido a que él mismo ha pasado por sufrimientos y tentaciones, puede ayudarnos cuando pasamos por tentaciones.” - Hebreos 2:18
- Jesus understands your temptations …
“Nuestro Sumo Sacerdote comprende nuestras debilidades, porque enfrentó todas y cada una de las tentaciones que enfrentamos nosotros, sin embargo, él nunca pecó.” - Hebreos 4:15
- Jesus fasted, consecrated, and overcame.
- You can fast - you can consecrate - you can overcome.
FASTING WILL ELEVATE ME TO OVERCOME EVERY TEMPTATION
