FUEGO, PASIÓN, Y AMOR ME MANTENDRÁN EN AVIVAMIENTO
“REVIVAL” is an awakening; a reawakening of faith; a renewal of commitment to God.
“AVIVAMIENTO” es un despertar; un redespertar de la fe; una renovación de compromiso con Dios.
- This is a necessary way to live - especially for the benefit of our areas of influence.
- Jesus tells us that…
“Se predicará la Buena Noticia acerca del Reino por todo el mundo, de manera que todas las naciones la oirán...” - Mateo 24:14
- Throughout Scripture there’s been moments of Revival: Moses; Jonah; Sermon on the Mount; and Second chapter of Acts.
- The Revival in 2nd Chapter of Acts had several elements:
[1st REVIVAL ELEMENT]
FIRE / Fuego
- During the Day of Pentecost, the Believers were praying waiting for the Baptism of Holy Spirit.
“…y se les aparecieron lenguas repartidas, como de FUEGO, asentándose sobre cada uno de ellos.”
Hechos 2:3
- What appeared to be flames of FIRE was visible in this Revival.
- Reminding us God is God of fire - & He uses it.
- We need to keep that in mind as we go deeper into Revival.
[2nd REVIVAL ELEMENT]
PASSION / PASIÓN
“When Jesus saw the crowds, He had COMPASSION on them because they were…like sheep without a shepherd.” Matthew 9:36
“Cuando Jesús vio a las multitudes, les tuvo COMPASIÓN, porque estaban…como ovejas sin pastor.” Mateo 9:36
- The 2nd Chapter of Acts associates with this Passion - this Compassion.
- After two outreaches, a total of 5,000 believed — what a revival.
- We especially notice the passion in the believers.
- After Peter & John were threatened they prayed…
“Oh Señor, escucha sus amenazas y danos a nosotros, tus siervos, mucho valor al predicar tu palabra. Extiende tu mano con poder sanador; que se hagan señales milagrosas y maravillas por medio del nombre de tu santo siervo Jesús».” Hechos 4:29-30
- This is PASSION for REVIVAL - enthusiasm to bring people to Jesus Christ.
[3rd REVIVAL ELEMENT & NEW SERIES]
LOVE / AMAR
- The night before His crucifixion, Jesus is teaching His disciples.
- The first thing He reminds them of is…
“Amen los unos a los otros, así como yo los he amado.” Juan 13:34
- These Disciples became the Apostles.
- They, along with the 2nd chapter of Acts Believers, became a reflection of Christ’s teaching - “love one another”.
“Todos los creyentes se dedicaban a las enseñanzas de los apóstoles, a la comunión fraternal, a participar juntos en las comidas (entre ellas la Cena del Señor), y a la oración.” Hechos 2:42
- Love was an integral part of their fellowship & movement - and it attracted people to them.
- As a result, the first Christian Revival began.
- Fire, Passion, & Love — Elements for Revival.
- Are you keeping the Fire of the Spirit burning?
- Are you strong in your Passion for the lost?
- Are you Loving as Jesus taught us to?
- These are elements for revival.
- And, they are also elements necessary for your success in all your endeavors.
- In your: Relationships, Home, Business, Workplace, Ministry, and so much more.
- Fire, Passion, and Love, through you, will keep all your endeavors (esfuerzos) alive.
FIRE, PASSION, AND LOVE WILL KEEP ME IN REVIVAL

1 Thessalonians 4:9
“Acerca del amor fraternal no tenéis necesidad de que os escriba, porque vosotros mismos habéis aprendido de Dios que os améis unos a otros;”
1 Tesalonicenses 4:9
[POWERPOINTS]
Love Is Divine Instruction - “…Taught by God…”
El amor es Instrucción Divina - “…Aprendido de Dios…”
- The Apostle Paul emphasizes that love isn’t merely a human emotion or social obligation—it is divine instruction.
- The Thessalonians had received this lesson directly from God, implying that true love originates from Him.
- 1 John / Juan 4:7-8 – “Love is from God… God is love.”
- John / Juan 13:34 – “A new commandment I give you: Love one another.”
- We don’t manufacture (fabricamos) Godly love—it’s cultivated through our relationship with God.
- Are you allowing the Spirit to teach you how to love?
Love Is Brotherly – "…Concerning Brotherly Love…"
El Amor es Fraternal - “…Acerca del Amor Fraternal…”
- Apostle Paul used the Greek word “philadelphia”, meaning brotherly or familial love.
- Christian love is rooted in spiritual kinship (parentesco), not just feelings or preferences.
- Romans / Romanos 12:10 – “Be devoted to one another in brotherly love.”
- Hebrews / Hebreos 13:1 – “Let brotherly love continue.”
- Do you treat your fellow believers as family?
- Are you showing loyalty, compassion, and patience like you would to a sibling? (That’s a whole other sermon right here ).
Love Is Practiced – “You Have No Need…”
El Amor Es Practicado - “…No Tenéis Necesidad…”
- The Apostle Paul acknowledges that the Thessalonians were already living out love, so much so that he didn’t need to lecture them on it.
- LOVE IS A VERB!
- Love is not theory—it’s ACTION.
- 1 John / Juan 3:18 – “Let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.”
- James / Santiago 2:15-16 – Don’t just speak love—show it.
- What does your love look like in practice?
- Is it evident in your giving, your patience, your time, and your service?
Love Is Expansive – “…To Love One Another…”
El Amor es Expansivo – “…Ameis Los Unos a Otros…”
- God’s love moves outward.
- The Apostle Paul encourages ongoing, expanding love.
- Not just for those nearby or easy to love, but for “one another,”.
- The entire body of Christ, and beyond.
- Here is where we can see Jesus’s compassion and Revival.
- 1 Thessalonians / Tesalonicenses 4:10 – “Yet we urge you… do so more and more.”
- Matthew / Mateo 5:46-47 – “Even tax collectors love those who love them…”
- Is your love growing in reach?
- Are you willing to love those who are different, distant, or even difficult, or the lost? (This again can be a whole sermon )
- Love is not optional for the believer.
- It is the mark of discipleship or a follower.
- As the Apostle Paul reminds the Thessalonians, true Christian love is:
- Taught by God / Enseñados por Dios
- Rooted in spiritual family / Enraizados en una familia espiritual
- Expressed through action / Expresado a través de la acción
- Ever-growing and inclusive / Creciente e inclusivo
- Ask yourself:
- Who is God calling me to love today?
- And how can I love them more like Christ?
- So, if you agree with the word, let’s all remember…

THE PURPOSE FOR THE SCRIPTURES IS FOR ME TO BE APPROVED BY GOD
EL PROPÓSITO DE LAS ESCRITURAS ES QUE YO SEA APROBADO POR DIOS
EL PROPÓSITO DE LAS ESCRITURAS
[INTRODUCTION]
- The Scriptures have purpose.
- They give us purpose in life.
- They give us literal Word from God Himself.
- They give us a preparation to do every good work.
- The Scriptures have purpose and it’s for us today.
TO GIVE US PURPOSE IN LIFE
PARA DARNOS PROPÓSITO EN LA VIDA
- “Purpose”: refers to plans, intentions, or goals.
- “Próthesis” - root word for prosthetics.
- In Scripture it refers to allowing God to attach His purpose to our lives — instead of ours.
- We read in Scripture that the Jewish people had been taken captive to Babylon - into exile.
- Lost everything: Family contacts; Land; Homes; Businesses; Freedom - irreplaceable losses.
- Prophet Jeremiah sends, by letter, the Word of the Lord to God’s people in Babylonian exile.
“Pues yo sé los planes que tengo para ustedes —dice el Señor—. Son planes para lo bueno y no para lo malo, para darles un futuro y una esperanza.” Jeremías 29:11
- When plans and goals don’t work out.
- When life seems to have no purpose.
- We can go to the Scriptures- & we are reminded that in God there IS Hope - there is purpose in life.
TO GIVE US LITERAL WORD OF THE LORD
PARA DARNOS PALABRA LITERAL DEL SEÑOR
- The Scriptures are the literal / authentic Words from God’s mind.
- When we have that literal Word of the Lord:
- We are Encouraged - perhaps to be Faithful.
- We can Face every battle as Good Soldiers.
“He peleado la buena batalla, he terminado la carrera y he permanecido fiel.” 2 Timoteo 4:7
- We want to live for God: Reach the Lost; Serve our Church; Work our Ministry.
“Esfuérzate para poder presentarte delante de Dios y recibir su aprobación. Sé un buen obrero, alguien que no tiene de qué avergonzarse y que explica correctamente la palabra de verdad.” 2 Timoteo 2:15
- Let’s take this literal Word beyond these 4 walls.
- When we have that literal Word of the Lord:
- We want to live life: Attend to Family; Go to Work; Hobby; Serve Community.
- When we have literal / authentic Word from the mind of God we will be found Approved by Him.
TO PREPARE US TO DO EVERY GOOD WORK
PARA PREPARARNOS PARA HACER TODA BUENA OBRA
- I thank God for Work of Lead Pastor here FOLW.
- But it took the work of many to get me here:
- Parents that day & night spoke Word to me.
- Bible based services all my life.
- 6 Years of Bible School.
- 20 years of serving a Minister of the Gospel.
- All that Scripture prepared me.
- How do Scriptures prepare us to do good work?
- Let’s take it from 2 Timothy 3:16 - All Scripture:
- INSTRUCTS US WITH GOD’S TRUTH
- CONVICTS US OF BEING WRONG
- CORRECTS OUR ERRORS
- TRAINS US TO DO THINGS RIGHT
- Dr. Steven’s new book “Decoding Our Faith” is based on 2 Timothy 3:16.
- Told him in interview, “this is a very powerful Scripture.” — it’s a powerfully effective Scripture.
- That’s why Paul ends his charge to Timothy with…
“Dios la usa para preparar y capacitar a su pueblo para que haga toda buena obra.” 2 Timoteo 3:17
[APPLICATION]
- The purpose of the Scripture is to give you PURPOSE in life, now.
- The purpose of the Scripture is for you to carry literal / authentic WORD of God, and use it.
- The purpose of the Scripture is for you to be PREPARED to speak it, always.
“predica la palabra de Dios. Mantente preparado, sea o no el tiempo oportuno. Corrige, reprende y anima a tu gente con paciencia y buena enseñanza.” 2 Timoteo 4:2
- That is the purpose of the Scripture in you.

- Comment was made about how much we are sharing about Love.
- The thing is that if we don’t know Love, truly, we don’t know God.

[INTRODUCTION]
- This is a beautiful passage that describes the importance of love in the Christian life.
- It is often read at weddings and other celebrations because it speaks to the enduring nature of God.
- However: Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the Church in Corinth.
- To Christian believers full of faith, knowledge, and spiritual gifts.
- Feuding over which gifts are better than others - causing disunity in the church.
- He also addressed other issues within the Church.
- He proceeds to say that love is more important than any other gift.
- And that it should be the driving force behind their interactions with one another.
- My question here today is, “how can I show deep love?”
- Like God shows us deep love…..He loves us.
- Unconditionally, sacrificially, patiently, without anger or resentment, and without arrogance or pride.
- Yes, this is difficult.
- It is especially difficult to love in this manner, when people disappoint, hurt or betray us.
- This past Sunday Apostle Efren spoke on forgiveness which Jesus himself tells us to forgive.
- Truly without Gods Grace, the love He asked of us would be impossible.
- But with God all things are possible… AMEN!!!!!
- If we love one another God abides in us, and His love is perfect in us.
- We need to love each other with genuine affection.
- Be happy for others successes.
- Encourage one another.
- Go that extra mile to help someone in need of deep love ….amen!
- In another version…
“El amor siempre protege, siempre confía, siempre espera, siempre persevera.” 1 Corintios 13:7
- Notice the word “always”.
- Love is consistent and never gives up.
- Love is not just an idea, it’s an action - a verb.
- It takes work, like Dr. Frances mentioned on the evening she ministered.
- So let’s thrive to show that deep love to others.
- There can be no real love without sacrifice - the stepping out of our will.
[POWERPOINTS ON DEEP LOVE
1 - BEARS ALL THINGS / TODO LO SUFRE
- This means love is willing to carry the burdens and difficulties of others - even when it’s hard.
- It’s about being supportive and understanding - not judgmental.
2 - BELIEVES ALL THINGS / TODO LO CREE
- This doesn’t mean being naive or gullible, but rather choosing to believe the best in people and situations - giving them the benefit of the doubt.
3 - HOPES ALL THINGS / TODO LO ESPERA
- Love is optimistic and full of faith, always looking for the good and believing positive outcomes - even when things seem bleak.
4 - ENDURES ALL THINGS / TODO LO SOPORTA
- Love perseveres through challenges and trials, remaining steadfast and loyal.
- Never giving up one those it loves.
- Deep Love reflects Gods unconditional and sacrificial Love…
- Shown through Jesus Christ death and resurrection.
- As Believers we are called to pour out that same deep love to others.
MAY WE BE FILLED WITH GOD’S DEEP LOVE SO WE CAN POUR OUT THAT DEEP LOVE TO OTHERS

GOD’S LOVE IS DEEP
EL AMOR DE DIOS ES PROFUNDO
EL AMOR DE DIOS ES PROFUNDO
[INTRODUCTION]
- Let’s go Deeper into God’s Love.
- I want to talk to you about: Love Songs; Christian Songs; & Loving God.
- I hope that after this we can appreciate more that God’s Love Is Deep.
- Do you have a favorite “Love song”?
- One that takes you back — some of us way back.
CANCIONES DE AMOR SON EXPRESIONES DE AMOR PROFUNDO
- That’s why we never forget them! - they go Deep.
- I Asked a couple, “Do you & hubby have a favorite ‘Love Song’ from back when?”
- Found out that up to 67% of songs are about love.
- Asked pastor Gloria, “Do we have a ‘Love Song’?” She answered, “Any song you sing I love.”
- The average number of songs written in the past decades is about 150 million songs.
- 1 of those entered in us so Deep, it became “Our Song” - our expression of deep love.
CANCIONES CRISTIANAS TRATAN SOBRE EL AMOR DE DIOS
- Christian songs, for the last 50 years, are primarily about God’s love, and love in general.
- I grew up singing Christian classics like: Amazing Grace; What A Friend We Have In Jesus (prayer); I Surrender All (trusting) — alluded to God’s Love.
- 70’s & “JESUS MOVEMENT” - Contemporary Christian music & bands were born.
- Love Song - “Lend an ear to a love song”
- Generación de Jesus - “The sacrifice that Jesus made on the cross was proof of His love that we can obtain today.”
- Reborn - “What a joy His love affords”
- These songs taught us that Christian love songs are inspired by God’s Love in His Word.
- Speaks of human love and divine love.
- And it brings to light the relationship between God and His people — His Deep Love for us.
TODO LO QUE HACEMOS COMIENZA CON AMAR A DIOS
- This is why we are talking so much about Love.
- Because the fact of the matter is that…
“Todo el que ama es un hijo de Dios y conoce a Dios; pero el que no ama no conoce a Dios, porque Dios es amor.” 1 Juan 4:7-8
- This is is why loving God is so important.
- If we Love God:
- Serve Him with all of our strength.
- Live Holy lives that honor Him.
- We will love one another as He loves us.
- We’re going to Love His Word.
“Ama al Señor tu Dios con todo tu corazón, con toda tu alma, con toda tu fuerza y con toda tu mente.” Deuteronomio 6:5; Mateo 22:37; Marcos 12:30; Lucas 10:27
- This is Moses speaking and Jesus confirming…
- Everything we do begins with loving God.
- And what does God do in return?
“¡Amen al Señor todos los justos! Pues el Señor protege a los que le son leales.” Salmos 31:23
- So guess what? We’re going to keep talking about God’s love.
- Why? Everything we do begins with loving God.
- The last time we talked about those things that hinder you from giving and receiving deep love:
- Maybe you’ve been hurt deeply by someone you love deeply.
- Maybe you were disappointed by those who should’ve been an example of Deep Love.
- For many it’s lingering sin and the deep feelings of condemnation that come from it.
- That’s part of what taking Communion is about.
- Sometimes you just have to start over - reboot.
- Todays Communion & Word means that nothing and nobody can hinder you from loving deeply.
- TODAY, you have gone deeper into God’s love for you.
GOD’S LOVE IS DEEP
EL AMOR DE DIOS ES PROFUNDO
I CAN LOVE (Love one another)
YO PUEDO AMAR (Amarse unos a otros)
True love can accomplish great things.
It can put us in a position of humility where we would be willing to bear or endure any burden.
God's love for humanity expressed in Christ is true love. And God expects us to love like Him.
Biblical Story is John 13 “Last supper” or the “Washing of the Disciples’ Feet”
Jesus used these last hours to teach, to serve and prepare His disciples for the future.
HE LOVES ME HE LOVES ME NOT
EL ME AMA EL NO ME AMA
God’s love doesn't come and go, it is here today, and it is not gone tomorrow.
El amor de Dios no va y viene, está aquí hoy y no se va mañana.
John 13:1b
He had loved his disciples during his ministry on earth, and now he loved them to the very end. NLT
…having loved His own who were in the world, He loved them to the end. NKJ
RV
To the end means a love that will never end. - Jesus will never stop loving His own.
To the end means a love that reaches to the fullest extent.
The LOVE of the LORD. In the Bible, agape Greek word (agápē). Associated with God's love for humanity and how Christians are called to love one another.
It is love that seeks the well-being of others, even at personal cost, and is not based on feelings or emotions, but rather on a deliberate act of the will.
In essence, agape love is the love that God has for humanity, and it is the love that Christians are called to emulate in their relationships with God and with one another.

4 So he got up from the table, took off his robe, wrapped a towel around his waist, 5 and poured water into a basin. Then he began to wash the disciples’ feet, drying them with the towel he had around him.

6 When Jesus came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, “Lord, are you going to wash my feet?”
7 Jesus replied, “You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.”
8 “No,” Peter protested, “you will never ever wash my feet!” Jesus replied, “Unless I wash you, you won’t belong to me.” 9 Simon Peter exclaimed, “Then wash my hands and head as well, Lord, not just my feet!”
10 Jesus replied, “A person who has bathed all over does not need to wash, except for the feet, to be entirely clean. And you disciples are clean, but not all of you.”
6 Entonces llegó* a Simón Pedro.
He who is bathed needs only to wash his feet: Speaking in the long Biblical tradition of using physical washing as an illustration of spiritual cleansing, Jesus taught there is an initial bathing that is distinct from an ongoing washing. We need to be bathed by our trust in Jesus and what He did for us on the cross; there is a sense in which that is done once for all. Yet afterward we must continually have our feet washed in ongoing relationship with and trust upon Jesus.
12 After washing their feet, he put on his robe again and sat down and asked, “Do you understand what I was doing? 13 You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and you are right, because that’s what I am. 14 And since I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you ought to wash each other’s feet. 15 I have given you an example to follow. Do as I have done to you. 16 I tell you the truth, slaves are not greater than their master. Nor is the messenger more important than the one who sends the message. 17 Now that you know these things, God will bless you for doing them.
Wash one another’s feet: We, like the disciples, would gladly wash the feet of Jesus. But He tells us to wash one another’s feet. Anything we do for each other that washes away the grime of the world and the dust of defeat and discouragement is foot washing.
It is easy for us to criticize those with dirty feet instead of washing them.

- Extreme act of servanthood. According to the Jewish laws and traditions regarding the relationship between a teacher and his disciples, a teacher had no right to demand or expect that his disciples would wash his feet. It was absolutely unthinkable that the Master would wash His disciple’s feet. Mark 10:45

- This foot washing was a powerful lesson in humility, but it was more than that.

- Do not judge and condemn but seek the restoration and the improvement of the brother.
- Sometimes we try to wash someone with our water too hot – we are too fervent and zealous.
- Sometimes our water is too cold – we are cold and distant in heart to them.
- We should also remember that we cannot dry-clean someone else’s feet. (en SECO) just 1 talk
- Jesus washed us with the washing of water by the word (Ephesians 5:26), we should use the same “water” in ministering to others. washed by the cleansing of God’s word.

Humiliation is the feeling of being ashamed or embarrassed when you lose respect for yourself.

3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from the table to wash the disciples feet… (you are clean, but not all of you) 11 For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.”
JUDAS oh JUDAS
2…the devil having already put it into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray Him…
Satan looked for a man to betray Jesus and had probably cultivated Judas for a long time.
Now the choice was made. Judas was his man. Satan influences Judas. Judas's betrayal began with a heart open to sin. Bruce favors the reading that it was the devil’s heart that held the evil impulse against Jesus, and that the devil impressed it from his heart to Judas.
Judas's failure to truly believe and follow the Savior led to his downfall, serving as a warning to all believers.
THE CHALLENGE:
EL RETO:
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another. 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.
This commandment is central to Christian ethics and community life. The Greek word for love used here is "agape," which denotes selfless, sacrificial love. This type of love is not based on emotions or feelings but is an act of will, reflecting God's love for humanity. In the cultural context of the time, where social hierarchies and divisions were prevalent, this command to love one another was radical, promoting unity and equality among believers.
Galatians 6:1 Dear brothers and sisters, if another believer is overcome by some sin, you who are godly should gently and humbly help that person back onto the right path. And be careful not to fall into the same temptation yourself.
2 Share each other’s burdens, and in this way obey the law of Christ.
3 If you think you are too important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. You are not that important.
3 Si te crees demasiado importante para ayudar a alguien, solo te engañas a ti mismo. No eres tan importante.
I CAN LOVE & I CAN SERVE LIKE JESUS
YO PUEDO AMAR Y PUEDO SERVIR COMO JESÚS
YO PUEDO AMAR Y PUEDO SERVIR
Sometimes, when people demand better treatment, they say, “Do you know who I am?”
Jesus knew His greatness, but instead of expecting special treatment, He treated others better."
JESUS SERVES WITH LOVE
JESÚS SIRVE CON AMOR
Jesus knew His purpose:
- His service was an action of humbleness not humiliation.
Humiliation is the feeling of being ashamed or embarrassed when you lose respect for yourself.
For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many. Mark 10:45
He served in this humble way.
- Not from weakness.
- From a position authority.
JESUS KNEW
JESÚS SABÍA
John 13: 1…Jesus knew that His hour had come that He should depart from this world to the Father…
3 Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come from God and was going to God, 4 rose from the table to wash the disciples feet… (you are clean, but not all of you) 11 For He knew who would betray Him; therefore He said, “You are not all clean.”

- Jesus didn’t only know His authority.
- He also knew His relationship with God.
- He knew His identity, as one who had come from God, and as one who was going to God.

- This love is not optional but a mandate for all followers of Christ.
- This love is a testimony of our faith and a witness to the world.

[INTRODUCTION]
- We can be loved because it has to do with God.
- Regardless of how we feel about love, God loves us - He loves “the world”.
- As Believers, we need to be a reflection of God’s love.
- Why? Because people need to be loved.
- But it all begins with accepting this eternal truth - God is love.
- And because of that, I Can Be Loved.
[POWERPOINTS]
WE ALL NEED TO BE LOVED
TODOS NECESITAMOS SER AMADOS
- All of us have the need to be loved & nurtured — it’s one of our most basic & fundamental needs.
- One of the forms of love is “Contact Comfort”.
- It’s so spiritually nurturing when we shake hands.
“Saluden a todos los hermanos con un beso santo.” 1 Tesalonicenses 5:26
- Findings show that “Babies who are deprived of “contact comfort”, particularly during the first six months after they are born, grow up to be psychologically damaged.”
- The same findings also say that “most of us believe that a significant determinant of our happiness is whether we feel loved and cared for.”
- A survey says that people rate “having healthy relationships” on par with “leading a happy and fulfilling life.”
- This is true from the very beginning of humanity.
- God gave Adam so much: place to live; a good job; healthy food; & relationship w/ Him.
“Después, el Señor Dios dijo: «No es bueno que el hombre esté solo. Haré una ayuda ideal para él».” Génesis 2:18
- Nothing can substitute human relationship - the human contact and comfort that comes from it.
- We need one another.
- We need to love one another.
- Why? Because we all need to be loved.
- Relationship with God is crucial for our eternity.
- Relationship w/ God is possible because of God - not you and I.
- GOD IS love - and He loves us perfectly, like no one else can - it’s an eternal spiritual love.
ENEMIGOS ESPIRITUALES QUE LUCHAN CONTRA EL AMOR ESPIRITUAL DE DIOS: satanás y el pecado
- Things that fight against God's love are primarily sin & evil - hatred, selfishness, violence, etc.
- “As long as human beings have walked, evil has been close by” (Desde que el ser humano ha caminado, el mal ha estado cerca) Bill O’Reilly
- SATAN: Devil described as enemy & prowling lion - VIDEO
“¡Estén alerta! Cuídense de su gran enemigo, el diablo, porque anda al acecho como un león rugiente, buscando a quién devorar.” 1 Pedro 5:8
- Devil seeks to cause us to reject God.
- How? by opposing God's love and influence.
- SIN
- The Bible lists numerous "works of the flesh" that are contrary to God's will — that’s SIN.
- Sins like immorality, idolatry, anger, division, wild parties, and other sins like these.
- Believe it or not, accept it or not, sin is sin and it offends God - goes against His holiness.
“Esfuércense por vivir en paz con todos y procuren llevar una vida santa, porque los que no son santos no verán al Señor.” Hebreos 12:14
- Without holiness, we’re not going to meet God—the One who loves us first & perfectly.
- Our willingness to sin creates distance from us to Him - and all that He has in store for us.
“Cuando ustedes siguen los deseos de la naturaleza pecaminosa, los resultados son más que claros…que cualquiera que lleve esa clase de vida no heredará el reino de Dios.” Gálatas 5:19-21
- Satan and sin are our main spiritual enemies.
- They hinder our ability to experience God’s love & from living important truth that “I Can Be Loved.
- How do I live in the knowledge that I can be loved?
VIVE CONTRA LA LEY
- Living against the law is breaking the laws.
- Not criminal behavior or civil disobedience.
- There is a law that prosecutes (enjuicia) the truth of “I can be loved“ - “law of sin and death”.
“Por lo tanto, ya no hay condenación para los que pertenecen a Cristo Jesús; y porque ustedes pertenecen a él, el poder del Espíritu que da vida los ha libertado del poder del pecado, que lleva a la muerte.” Romanos 8:1-2
- We are free to be law-breakers. (Infractores)
- The law of sin and death is not for us Believers.
“La ley no fue diseñada para la gente que hace lo correcto. Es para los transgresores y rebeldes, para los desobedientes a Dios y los pecadores, para quienes no consideran nada sagrado y que profanan lo que es santo...” 1 Timoteo 1:9-11
- How do we live in the authority of a law breaker of sin and death?
- The antithesis of “works of the flesh” is the fruit of the spirit - aka the character of Christ.
“Pero el fruto del Espíritu es amor, gozo, paz, paciencia, benignidad, bondad, fe, mansedumbre, templanza; contra tales cosas no hay ley.” Gálatas 5:22-23
- The fruit of the spirit, character of Christ, gives us the authority to be lawbreakers of the law of sin and death — a rebel WITH a righteous cause.
- You can be loved. Because God is love.
- It’s all about His perfect and always love for you.
- It is THAT love that is being perfected in you, each time you choose to live right.
- Now, please, do not kid yourself in thinking that you do not need loved or to be loved.
- You were made by a loving God to be loved from the moment you were conceived.
- And you were made to love others.
- So be a rebel with a righteous cause and ROAR against that which is evil, sinful, and unholy.
- Live the character of Jesus Christ.
- And you will live knowing that you can be loved, always.
THERE IS NO DOUBT THAT I AM LOVED
NO HAY DUDA DE QUE YO SOY AMADO

[INTRODUCTION]
- How many love to pray?
- In Matthew 6 & Luke 11 we read what is the most loved prayer in the Bible – the Lord’s Prayer.
- In this prayer, we are able to draw some lessons.
- 1st, our genuine prayer life encourages others to want to pray.
- 2nd, the Lord’s prayer is a response to the desire to pray.
- 3rd, there’s always more to learn about prayer.
- Let’s look into these lessons from the much loved prayer - Lord’s Prayer.
- It’ll stir in us why we love to pray.
[LESSONS]
OUR GENUINE PRAYER LIFE ENCOURAGES OTHERS TO WANT TO PRAY
NUESTRA VIDA DE ORACIÓN GENUINA ANIMA A OTROS A QUERER ORAR
- When somebody sees us pray in a right spirit, it encourages them to want to pray.
- Apostle Porfirio Perez.
- Jesus always prayed: baptism; food; passion; etc.
- We know this because He was seen, obviously.
- But sometimes He would withdraw to pray.
- Interesting, before teaching, what we call, the Lord’s Prayer He said,
“Cuando ores, no hagas como los hipócritas a quienes les encanta orar en público, en las esquinas de las calles y en las sinagogas donde todos pueden verlos. Les digo la verdad, no recibirán otra recompensa más que esa.” Mateo 6:5
- The issue wasn’t public prayer but that their prayers were not genuine - right intentions.
- Hypocrite prayer - fake prayer - look good prayer.
- Jesus was seen praying & sometimes not.
- But it was His lifestyle of genuine prayer that encouraged His disciples to say, teach us to pray.
- And that is the lesson learned here: our genuine prayer life encourages others to want to pray.
- So that they too can say “I love to pray”.
THE LORD’S PRAYER IS A RESPONSE TO THE DESIRE TO PRAY
EL PADRE NUESTRO ES UNA RESPUESTA AL DESEO DE ORAR
- 1 of His disciples demonstrated a genuine desire.
- He said Lord teach US to pray — not ME, US.
- Jesus discerns his genuine desire, and before saying the “Lord’s Prayer”, He gives this advice.
“Cuando ores, no parlotees de manera interminable como hacen los gentiles. Piensan que sus oraciones recibirán respuesta solo por repetir las mismas palabras una y otra vez. No seas como ellos, porque tu Padre sabe exactamente lo que necesitas, incluso antes de que se lo pidas.” Mateo 6:7-8
- Then He speaks one of his most loved teachings - a model prayer, a format, we can use today.
- When you pray:
- Direct yourself to Our Father - specific.
- Recognize His Holiness - before asking.
- Ask first things first - His Will
- Present Real Needs - genuine need.
“Mi Dios, pues, suplirá toda necesidad de ustedes conforme a sus riquezas en gloria en Cristo Jesús.” Filipenses 4:19
- What an amazing teaching the Lord’s prayer is - important to study in further detail.
- And the lesson we draw is that God responds to our desire to pray - I love to pray, better.
THERE’S ALWAYS MORE TO LEARN ABOUT PRAYER
SIEMPRE HAY MÁS QUE APRENDER SOBRE LA ORACIÓN
- The Bible has so much more to teach on prayer.
- Context around the Lord’s prayer is impressive.
- It begins with clear instructions: Keep prayer real & Follow the Format.
- And then Jesus teaches the model prayer - A format that teaches important elements for effective prayers.
- And after the Lord’s Prayer, there are the Followup lessons.
“Luego utilizó la siguiente historia para enseñarles más acerca de la oración” Lucas 11:5
- Here is the Followup context- we need to pray: Forgive; Fasting; & Kindness.
- Here is the lesson: each time we pray there is more to learn after we pray - this is why we love to pray.
