  • Isaiah prophesies to a rebellious and punished nation. 
  • He demonstrates non-judgmental mercy. 
  • Jesus had mercifully said, “I came to save not condemn.”

THE TRIUMPHANT ENTRANCE OF SALVATION
LA ENTRADA TRIUNFANTE DE LA SALVACIÓN 
John / Juan 12:12-15
  • Today is a day of triumph. 
  • Today is the day your Savior and King enters into your life and into your every life situation. 
  • It is your day for victory, healing, salvation, and so much more. 
  • Your King is here — today is your triumphant entrance.

  • There’s always those last-minute preparations.
  • My daughter got married 5 months ago. 
  • There were so many things to do. 
  • And as the big day approached, there were those last and final preparations. 
  • A great event was coming. 
  • Those final preparations were crucial.
  • Jesus is about to fulfill His purpose in life. 
  • So there are some preparations needed to be done. 

PREPARATIONS FOR HIS BURIAL
PREPARACIONES PARA SU ENTIERRO
Matthew / Mateo 26:6-13
  • Jesus was in Bethany at the home of Simon.
  • A woman pours expensive perfumed oil over His head & feet. 
  • Oil was worth 300 denarii -  A YEARS WAGES!
    • Tax day is coming. 
    • How much do you make a year?
    • Average salaries:
      1. Fast food (comida rápido) - $20K
      2. Retail (Ventas) / Cleaning - $26K
      3. Accounting (Contabilidad) - $38K
      4. Construction / Truck driver - $42K
      5. Real Estate / Pastors - $50K
      6. Office Supervisor - $56K
      7. Teacher - $61K
      8. Plumber - 62K
      9. Nurse - $71K
    • The question - How many of us would be prepared to give God something worth a years salary?
    • That’s the value this woman gave to Jesus and his burial preparation.
  • The disciples were indignant, especially Judas, “What a waste!” (“¡Que desperdicio!”)
  • [Jesus said] “She has poured this perfume on me to prepare my body for burial.” - Matthew 26:12
[Jesus dijo] “Ella ha derramado este perfume sobre mí a fin de preparar mi cuerpo para el entierro.” - Mateo 26:12
  • “I tell you the truth, wherever the Good News [Gospel] is preached throughout the world, this woman’s deed will be remembered and discussed.” - Matthew‬ ‭26:12‬-13

  • Jesus was impressed - On that early Wednesday, the cost of His burial preparation was great. 
  • It was to be the burial of the King of kings. 
  • So there are some other preparations on that same Wednesday.
  • Before Jesus fulfills His purpose in life, preparations for his betrayal are going on. 
PREPARATIONS FOR HIS BETRAYAL
PREPARACIONES PARA SU TRAICIÓN 
Matthew / Mateo 26:14-16
  • An evil spirit had entered Judas and he arranges the betrayal of his Lord and King, Jesus Christ. 
  • He asked the leading priests, “How much will you pay me to betray (traicionar) Jesus to you?” 
  • They said, “30pieces of silver.”
  • “From that time on, Judas began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus.” - Matthew‬ ‭26:16‬ 
“A partir de ese momento, Judas comenzó a buscar una oportunidad para traicionar a Jesús.” - Mateo‬ ‭26:16‬ ‭‭
  • Preparations were in motion. 
  • 30 pieces of silver - $200 - majority of sources. 
  • Compare that to how much the woman spends on preparing Jesus for his burial.
  • I believe that it doesn’t take Judas too long to remember that - and he is hit with conviction. 
  • Now he is unimpressed with 30 pieces of silver. 
  • The cost was not worth the betrayal of his Lord and King. 
  • He returns to throw back the money at the religious leaders. 
  • But that demon inside of him was stubborn. 
  • And Judas was weak with disappointment and frustrations of how things had not turned out according to his expectations.
  • The condemnation became greater than the conviction. 
  • Judas condemnation took him to hang himself. 
(APPLICATION)
  • We are preparing to celebrate the greatest event that has ever happened. 
  • Jesus Christ, the Son of God, died on the cross of Calvary and on the third day He rose from the dead. 
  • He testified and declared to the world, that He is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. 
  • The King has come. 
  • Let us make preparations to remember and celebrate that powerful and life-changing event.
