KEEPING THE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BATTLE
MANTENER LA PAZ EN MEDIO DE LA BATALLA

“NO FEAR IN THE BATTLE”
“SIN MIEDO EN LA BATALLA”
Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Psalm 23:4
Tu vara y tu cayado me protegen y me confortan. Salmo 23:4
What is Fear and How it works?
¿Qué es el miedo y cómo funciona?
Fear is an emotion programmed into the nervous system and works like an instinct.
From childhood, we are equipped to respond with fear when we sense danger or feel unsafe. “SENSOR”
When we sense danger, the brain reacts instantly, sending signals to activate the nerves system,
creating a physical reaction. Sweating, legs & hands shaking, butterflies, blood pressure.
The Bible records 2 types of Fear
La Biblia registra 2 tipos de Miedo
Fear of the Lord. Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge”
Fear of earthly troubles. 2Timothy 1:7 God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. A contradiction? Earthly fear, is unhealthy, consuming, paralyzing is death. Godly fear is life.
When the earthly fear declines, the godly fear is empowered. God promises to banish it & replaces it Godly fear.
**It is not God’s will for His children to be afraid. It’s been said that there are 365 “Fear nots” in the Bible.
Fear’s grand entrance -Genesis 3:8-11
La gran entrada del miedo
In the evening, when God came around to fellowship with them, He found them hiding in fear for they had realized they had done something bad. Verse 10 He replied, “I heard you walking in the garden, so I hid. I was afraid because I was naked.”
Avoiding or hiding from fear doesn't help to overcome it, in fact, it can be the opposite. Avoiding something scary reinforces a fear and keeps it strong. Here is when FEAR becomes unhealthy. (Stress, Anxiety, Phobias)
An average human being experiences fear many times in their lifetime.
Many of the great Bible characters had to deal with fear in their journey on the earth.
Feelings are a door to fear.
Los sentimientos son una puerta al miedo.
Moses – Insecurity “Who am I that I should go?” “What if they do not believe me or listen to me?” “I have never been eloquent... I am slow of speech and tongue.” Moses ended with, “Please send someone else” Exodus 3 & 4
Elijah – Worry Just after displaying the powers of the almighty God, Elijah received a message from Queen Jezebel, the wife of King Ahab. Where Jezebel had promised to do to Elijah the exact thing he had done to the prophets of Baal. Elijah was afraid and fled for his life. 1Kings 18-19
Women issue of blood – Rejection “When a woman has a discharge of blood for many days... she will be unclean as long as she has the discharge.” Twelve years untouchable! This rejected woman moved through the crowd thinking, “If I only touch His cloak, I will be healed” Matthew 9
Jacob – Past Twenty years before he had fled for his life to Haran after taking his brother’s birthright and blessing. Now he was returning to Canaan in obedience to God. Jacob knew that he would have to face his brother who had planned to kill him. Then the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, “We met your brother Esau, and he also is coming to meet you, and he is already on his way to meet you with an army of 400 man.”
Genesis 32 So, Jacob was greatly afraid (terrified) & distressed…
In life there are things, activities, situations, places and even people that produce fear in our minds in hearts. The fear of failure, after making mistakes, of not being enough, of commitment, new job, graduation, of the future, of becoming parents, of letting go, falling in love, death.
How do we overcome fear?
¿Cómo vencemos el miedo?
…el amor perfecto expulsa todo temor. 1Juan 4:18
Salmo 34:4
I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. Isaiah 41:10
Hebreos 13:6
Psalm 23:4 Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me.
Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. Tu vara y tu cayado me protegen y me confortan.
Conclusion Psalm 56:3
But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.

- Salmos 3:1-2
- David knew about battles of life.
- David is an excellent example of knowing your battles.
ALGUNAS BATALLAS NO SON
- Some battles are not meant to be fought.
- Some battles are not for Us nor for God.
- Why? Some battles are not battles at all:
- We can’t go out to fight a battle that isn’t there.
GOD’S GOT THIS!
¡DIOS LO TIENE!
- When it is a battle & God tells you I got this…
- Remember who it is that is telling you that
“Dios hace Lo que Le place.” - Salmos 115:3
- God doesn’t know any better than perfect.
- God: Is Thee Supreme Being; Does not mess up.
- When the battle is God’s, we need to get out of His way — collateral damage.
- Often times, God needs us out of the way for our sakes.
- When God has it, God has it.
SOMETIMES WE’RE CALLED INTO THE FIGHT
A VECES SOMOS LLAMADOS A LA PELEA
- Notice: David said “this is the Lord’s battle.”
- Yet, HE ran to fight the fight.
- HE went in the name of the Lord.
- HE killed the giant champion.
- Sometimes God wants to use us in His battles.
- Are you facing some real battles of life?
- First of all, you have to Take it to God — that’s what David did.
- Then, you have to Trust God to take over, if need be.
- But, if He wants you to fight, know that He will strengthen you for the battle.
“Pero tú, oh Señor, eres un escudo que me rodea; eres mi gloria, el que sostiene mi cabeza en alto.” - Salmos 3:3
- Finally, know this for sure, He will always lead you to the right battles to fight.
“La victoria proviene de Ti, oh Señor; bendice a Tu pueblo.” - Salmos 3:8
