INTRODUCTION
- When we CTC, we connect to the possible --
- In the case of Mary, the unexpected, literally, just appeared before her — with impossible news — such is life.
- The Christmas season, however, brings Hope.
- Christmas connects us to the Hope that nothing is impossible to God.
- When we CTC we connect to the possible.
MISSION IMPOSSIBLE
MISION IMPOSIBLE
- Grew up watching TV series Mission Impossible.
- The IMF (Impossible Mission Force) / La FMI (Fuerza Mision Imposible)
- A government agency that undertakes (realiza) only the most hazardous of espionage missions.
- And then there’s that Laló Schífrin catchy tune…
- Important principles we must connect to.
- Principles evident even in Tom Cruise’s MI Series:
- Life is about accomplishing impossible missions.
¿MARIA SABÍAS?
- The unknown makes things seem impossible.
- Mary knew: Nazareth; Virgin; Engaged - easy.
- 3 things Mary didn’t know:
- NO WAY!
“Gabriel se le apareció y dijo: «¡Saludos, mujer favorecida! ¡El Señor está contigo!». Confusa y perturbada, María trató de pensar lo que el ángel quería decir.” - Lucas 1:28-29
- CAN’T HAPPEN!
“Concebirás y darás a luz un hijo, y le pondrás por nombre Jesús. —¿Pero cómo podrá suceder esto? —le preguntó María al ángel—. Soy virgen.” - Lucas 1:31, 34
- YOU’RE KIDDING RIGHT? / I CAN’T WITH YOU!
“Además, tu parienta Elisabet, ¡quedó embarazada en su vejez! Antes la gente decía que ella era estéril, pero ha concebido un hijo y ya está en su sexto mes de embarazo.” - Lucas 1:36
- The unknown causes us to react similar to Mary.
- The unknown makes things seem impossible.
FOR EVERY IMPOSSIBLE THERE IS THE POSSIBLE
PARA CADA IMPOSIBLE EXISTE LO POSIBLE
- For every mission impossible there is God.
- For every Unexpected & Unknown, there is God to make it possible.
- For every NO WAY!
“No tengas miedo, has hallado el favor de Dios!” - Lucas 1:30
- For every CAN’T HAPPEN!
“El Espíritu Santo vendrá sobre ti, y el poder del Altísimo te cubrirá con su sombra.” - Lucas 1:35
- For every YOUR KIDDING MISSION IMPOSSIBLE!
“The Word of God will never fail.” - Luke 1:37
“Pues nada hay imposible para Dios.” - Lucas 1:37 RVR95
“Pues la palabra de Dios nunca dejará de cumplirse.” - Lucas 1:37 NTV
- When the impossible is made possible in our spirit:
“Soy la sierva del Señor. Que se cumpla todo lo que has dicho acerca de mí.” - Lucas 1:38
- Whatever your impossible might be - God will turn it to possible.
- Whatever you don’t know - God will tell you all you need to know.
- For every “no way”, “can’t happen”, & “you’re kidding right?” moments in life - there is God.
- This Christmas season, and always, Connect to God and you are connected to the possible.
- Thank you Lord for your Word.
- Thank you for connecting us to the possible.
- Through your Word, Prayer, Worship, & one another, help us stay connected to the possible.
- All things are possible through you Christ.
