- Before the Israelites went into the Promised Land, Moses sent 12 spies out to gather a report of what they saw.
- After 40 days, the spies came back with a report.

- The Israelites had a huge problem.
- They felt very small. Small like grasshoppers.
- And it seems they were concerned with how small other people thought they were too.
- This problem was so big that right after hearing this report, they rebelled against God.
- They wanted to choose a new leader and go back to Egypt.
- They wanted to go back to the place where they lived as slaves.
- Spitting in the face of their God who just brought them out of slavery.
- They thought God was going to bring them into the promised land just to be killed and have their children taken as plunder.
- Only two of the twelve spies brought back a positive report - Caleb and Joshua.
- They tried to remind the crowds of what the Lord had said.
- That there was nothing to fear.
- They said “Do not be afraid” “The Lord is with us” but there was no reasoning with them.
- The seed of the negative report was already planted and it spread rapidly.
- The 10 spies who incited rebellion with their negative report died to a plague.
- The Israelites would have to wander the wilderness for 40 years - 1 year for every day the spies searched the land.
- Many of those who left Egypt would not be allowed to enter the promised land - They would instead die in the wilderness.
DON’T LET A NEGATIVE REPORT POISON YOUR ABILITY TO PRAISE
NO DEJES QUE UN REPORTE NEGATIVO ENVENENE TU HABILIDAD DE ALABAR
- What was the condition of the hearts of the Israelites? - Their hearts were filled with fear.
- They couldn’t trust that God had a plan for the promised land.
- They instead believed the lie that they were small and insignificant like a grasshopper even though they served an Almighty God!
- Walk around the city walls 13 times with the Ark of the Covenant.
- Blow your trumpets the whole time.
- At then end of all of that SHOUT and the walls of the city will fall.
- Destroy everything and keep the precious metals for the treasury.
Could Joshua have trusted God if he cared more about what the enemy thought about him than what God thought?
It doesn’t matter what the enemy says about you!
The only thing that matters is what God says about you!
BELIEVE THAT GOD HAS A PLAN
CREE QUE DIOS TIENE UN PLAN
- Joshua believed in God’s plan.
- He followed the strategy that was given to him.
- Why did he follow that strategy?
- Let’s turn to Joshua chapter 1.
- After the death of Moses, God brings a charge to Joshua - And He also brings encouragement.
No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. - Joshua 1:5

“Ya te lo he ordenado: ¡Sé fuerte y valiente! ¡No tengas miedo ni te desanimes! Porque el Señor tu Dios te acompañará dondequiera que vayas».” - Josué 1:9
- Joshua believed that God had a plan.
- And he praised God through every step.
- Do you believe that God has a plan? He does!
- Do you believe that God has a strategy for every battle? — He does!
PRAISE GOD THROUGH EVERYTHING
ALABA A DIOS A TRAVÉS DE TODO
- God is looking for warriors to carry out His will.
- And we do not fight battles of flesh and blood.
- We fight with our praise and worship.
- We engage in spiritual warfare.
- There will be many battles to fight in our lives, but through Jesus Christ we already have victory.
- We are not like grasshoppers.
- We have access to divine power and hold to a victory that defies our own expectations.
- When we allow fear to take control of our minds, we begin to rely on ourselves to receive victory.
- But we can never succeed spiritually in our own strength.
- The world will bombard you with negative reports.
- The enemy will try to make you feel small - To feel like your worship doesn’t matter.
- But the enemy is wrong!
- Do you believe that we have victory?
- How do we access that victory?
- We access that victory with our praise
[APPLICATION]
- Praise focuses our heart on God.
- When we praise God, our hearts are humbled, and we’re able to get out of the way — More of You, God and less of me.
- We are able to acknowledge the sovereignty of God — He is the Lord of our lives. We are not.
- God is worthy of our praise
- Praise allows us to receive the victory that God already promised.
- God’s Word will never return void.
- His promises are sure.
- There is no obstacle too great for God.
- Be strong and courageous!
- In all battles, you have access to the power of The Almighty.
- In the battles of your marriage, your education, your work, or in your family.
- No matter how big the giants may be, or how tall the city wall is, you are not a grasshopper, small and insignificant.
- Beloved, you are a child of God.
- You are capable.
- And when you live a life of obedience, you will have the Lord on your side.
- In all the good.
- In all the bad.
- And everything in between
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. - Psalms 103:1
Alaba, alma mía, al Señor; alabe todo mi ser su santo nombre. - Salmo 103:1
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits - Psalms 103:2
“Alaba, alma mía, al Señor y no olvides ninguno de sus beneficios.” - Salmo 103:2
- He forgave my sins - So I will praise Him
- He healed my disease - So I will praise Him
- He redeemed my life from the pit - So I will praise Him
- He crowned me with love and compassion - So I will praise Him
- He satisfies my desires with good things - So I will praise Him
- Everything that breathes should give its praise to the One who gave it breath.
- I will not allow fear to poison my praise.
