- Paul writes to the believers in Philippi from prison.
- He is writing in the manner of “last words”.
- Beginning to sense that his days are numbered.
NUESTROS DÍAS ESTÁN CONTADOS
- Paul lives several more years after writing letter.
- Let’s connect this to the Altar.
- The purpose of the altar is to sacrifice.
- That which needs to die, dies on the altar.
EL ALTAR MATA LO QUE NECESITA MORIR
- Great result is that we continue living, but better.
- It’s a necessary cycle.
- Heard a secular song “Live like you were dying”.
- Song reminding us that tomorrow is not promised.
- Proverbios 27:1

- Truth! Yes! We are born to die.
- But death is so momentary.
- In Christ, we live to die to live eternally with Him.
VIVIMOS PARA VIVIR POR SIEMPRE
- Without Christ, we also live to die to live eternally — but to an unfortunate eternity of suffering.
- While you live today, make use of the altar.
- Die daily that you might truly live today & always.

[INTRODUCTION]
- To live and to die is not our choice.
- We are all alive & we make the most of our lives knowing that one day, or another, death will be knocking at our door.
- Filipenses 1:21
For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. - Philippians 1:21
- Filipenses 1:21
- What does it mean - look like - to live for Christ?
[POWERPOINTS]
MAKE THE DECISION
TOMA LA DECISION
- Are we going to live for Him or not?
- I had to make this decision when I was discovering my own faith.
- People may assume that because of Grandpa, Mom, and Dad; that I had it easy (easy faith).
- But no, I had (and still have) to build my own faith.
- There was a time, in a 2-3 year time span, when my coworkers would talk to me (short story time).
- I see now God was trying to use me in their lives.
- And I didn’t allow it - I had to make the decision to live for Him and allow Him to use me.
- We have to make that decision!
- Easier said than done, right?
- How can we overcome this?
TOMORROW ISN’T GUARANTEED
MAÑANA NO ESTÁ GARANTIZADO
You do not know what will happen tomorrow…Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we shall live and do this or that. - James 4:14-15
- Santiago 4:14-15
- We don’t know what will happen tomorrow, or even what will happen when we leave tonight.
- We must live evry day (w/ Christ) like it’s our last.
- YOLO - 2012
- Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed…(Bianca Story)
- I wasn’t involved but I had regrets about things I’ve said and didn’t say/do.
- Like I didn’t live my best self for her.
- Here’s the beautiful thing though!
- You take what the enemy meant for evil and you turn it for good.
- He took the enemy’s attack & used it for His word to us, His people, so we could have hope and live!
- Flesh has to die for the spirit to live.
- Ap. Paul says, “We have to die daily”.
- Our fleshy desires must die.
- The more we can live in the spirit and overcome the flesh - the greater victory we will have in our walk with God.
- Sometimes we don’t live the way we should, and feel undeserving.
- But be encouraged and have hope.
- The Lord is willing and able to forgive us.
FORGIVENESS FOR ALL
PERDÓN PARA TODOS
- 3 Examples of the Principle of Death to Life.
- The last one was “The Blood Sacrifice”.
- (Go back to Sunday Facebook for the Theological breakdown from Ap. Steven)
- The ultimate blood sacrifice was Jesus dying on the cross - so we are no longer required to shed blood and offer a sacrifice.
- Jesus already paid for those blood sacrifices.
- Why? He died to bring us back to God.
- Isn’t that amazing!?
- Psalm 51 (favorite verse when I fall short).
- (SCRIPTURE CONTEXT) David had to offer the sacrifices, but we get the direct line.
- Be encouraged to make decision to live for Christ.
- Tomorrow isn’t guaranteed, so let’s make use of the Altar and die to what’s holding us back.
- Seek His forgiveness - let God work in your life, so you can live better for Him, family, everything.
- “We have to die daily” - Paul.
- So we can truly live today and always for eternity.

- Filipenses 1:21
How many of you, make plans about what to wear to attend church today?
Most of us make plans for the future and we never consider if we will be alive for that moment.
One day, we’re all going to die, but no one likes to think about it, it's an important topic to consider.
We spend hours planning trips, social gatherings, retirement, the career, or school we or our children will attend, and investments, (car, house, rent, buy) we even prepare for emergencies.
But we don’t prepare for death, the one certainty in life.
If we knew the day of our death, perhaps we would plan our lives differently.

GOD’S HAS PERFECT KNOWLEDGE OF MY LIFE
DIOS TIENE CONOCIMIENTO PERFECTO DE MI VIDA
In Psalm 139 we see 3 of the absolute attributes of God displayed.
Omniscience – All-Knowing (1-6) O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away.
Omnipresence – Ever-Present (7-12) I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there.
Omnipotence – All-Powerful (13-18) You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous…
GOD HAS A PLAN
DIOS TIENE UN PLAN
Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. Psalm 139:16
Salmo 139:16
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago. Ephesians 2:10
Efesios 2:10
For you have been born again, but not to a life that will quickly end. Your new life will last forever because it comes from the eternal, living word of God. …“People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. The grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever.” And that word is the Good News that was preached to you. 1Peter 1:23-25
1Pt 1:23-25
GOOD TO KNOW AND ADMIT
ES BUENO SABER Y ADMITIR
Why is it good for me as a believer to know and admit that my days are numbered?
How precious are your thoughts about me, o God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand!... Psalm 139:17-18
Salmo 139:17-18

[INTRODUCTION]
- Everyone has opportunity to:
- Make an impact.
- Make lasting memories with friends, family, and loved ones.
- Create change in people’s lives.
- And change the world around you.
But this is what you must do: Tell the truth to each other. Render verdicts in your courts that are just and that lead to peace. - Zechariah 8:16

THE DASH (poem by Linda Ellis)
EL GUIÓN
- I read of a man who stood to speak at the funeral of a friend.
- He referred to the dates on the tombstone (la lápida) from the beginning to the end.
- He noted first came the date of the birth and spoke the following dates with tears.
- But he said what matters most of all was the “dash” (guión) between the years.
- For that “dash” (guión) represents all the time that they spent life on Earth.
- And how only those who loved them know what that little line is worth.
- For it matters not how much we own, the cars, the houses, the cash.
- What matters is how we live and love, and how we spend our “dash” (guión).
¿HAY COSAS QUE TE GUSTARÍA CAMBIAR?
- So think about this long and hard.
- Are there things you’d like to change?
- For you never know how much time is left that can still be rearranged.
CONSIDERA LO QUE ES VERDADERO Y REAL
- If we could just slow down enough to consider what’s true and real.
- Always try to understand the way others feel.
- Be less quick to anger and show appreciation more.
- Love the people in our lives like we’ve never loved before.
TRATEN EL UNO AL OTRO CON RESPETO
- Treat each other with respect.
- More often wear a smile.
- Remember that this special “dash” (guión) might only last a little while.
- So when your eulogy is being read, with your life’s actions to rehash (retocando), would you be proud of the things they say about how you spent your “dash” (guión)?
- We’ve been told by Pst Fernando that, “our days are numbered.”
- Minister Ferny Curiel told us “tomorrow is not promised to anyone.”
- Jesus had 33½ yrs to live and impact the World.
- His Life and Death changed the coarse of time and history forever.
WHAT WILL WE DO WITH THE TIME GOD GIVES US?
¿QUE HAREMOS CON EL TIEMPO QUE DIOS NOS DA?
