NEW BEGINNING
NUEVO COMIENZO
  • August into September is an exciting time.
  • August - 8th Month - Consecrated; New
  • September - Summer to Autumn - New Season / Beginning.
  • Part of the attraction of the NFL:  When the season begins; every week is a new challenge.
  • Jewish Calendar - Rosh Hashanah (Rosh Hashaná) - New Year
  • As mentioned before, we ARE living times of challenges, difficulties, great sin, & end time events - preparing for God’s future glory.
  • Reminded by God - time to reflect on the old.
“Stop at the crossroads and look around. Ask for the old, godly way, and walk in it. Travel its path, and you will find rest for your souls.” - Jeremiah‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭
“Deténganse en el cruce y miren a su alrededor; pregunten por el camino antiguo, el camino justo, y anden en él. Vayan por esa senda y encontrarán descanso para el alma.” - Jeremías‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭
  • Despite our present world condition, there is Hope in Jesus Christ.
  • Reminded by God - time to be led to do the new.
“I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” - Isaiah‬ ‭43:19‬ ‭
“Estoy a punto de hacer algo nuevo. ¡Mira, ya he comenzado! ¿No lo ves? Haré un camino a través del desierto; crearé ríos en la tierra árida y baldía.” - ‭‭Isaías‬ ‭43:19‬
  • This season is opportunity for New Beginning.

CONCLUSION
A BETTER ME WILL TAKE IT EASY — IT IS MY NEW BEGINNING
UN MEJOR YO LO TOMARA CON CALMA — ES MI NUEVO COMIENZO

TRY SOMETHING NEW  - How do you know something new is for you?
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” - Matthew‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭
“Busquen el reino de Dios por encima de todo lo demás y lleven una vida justa, y Él les dará todo lo que necesiten.” - Mateo‬ ‭6:33‬ ‭
“For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” - Romans‬ ‭14:17‬ ‭
“Pues el reino de Dios no se trata de lo que comemos o bebemos, sino de llevar una vida de bondad, paz y alegría en el Espíritu Santo.” - Romanos‬ ‭14:17‬ ‭

INTRODUCTION
  • There’s always an opportunity to try something new — to be in “what is” for us.
  • So we should be willing to try something new.
  • God says, “I’m doing something new.”
  • That’s who God is - Always Something New.
  • Knowing this gives us the assurance to try something new & thus be in “what is” for us.

TRYING SOMETHING NEW
INTENTANDO ALGO NUEVO
  • Trying something new stirs inquisitive(o) effect:
  • Isaiah 43:19 reveals hesitancy towards new.
  • Do you not see it? (¿No lo ves?)
  • Hesitancy holds us back - often paralyzes.
  • Conquest of the New Land — Promised Land:
“What are you waiting for? Don’t hesitate to go and take possession of it.” - Judges‬ ‭18:9‬ ‭
“¿Qué esperan? No duden en ir y tomar posesión de ella.” - Jueces‬ ‭18:9‬ ‭
  • We Must be willing to try something new - otherwise it will become a life of “what if’s”.

GOD IS ALL ABOUT “NEW FOR YOU”
DIOS ES TODO SOBRE “NUEVO PARA TI”
  • “New” comes from God:
Genesis 1; Lament. 3:23; 2 Cor. 5:17; Rev. 21
  • God of New tells us to Seek His Kingdom:
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”” - 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭
“Ningún ojo ha visto, ningún oído ha escuchado, ninguna mente ha imaginado lo que Dios tiene preparado para quienes lo aman».” - 1 Corintios‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭
“May God’s peace and mercy be upon all who live by this principle; they are the new people of God.” - Galatians‬ ‭6:16‬‭
“Que la paz y la misericordia de Dios sean con todos los que viven según ese principio; ellos son el nuevo pueblo de Dios.” - Gálatas‬ ‭6:16‬ ‭
  • From creation, to salvation, to eternity, God is always about “new for you”.

THE ASSURANCE TO FACE THE NEW
LA SEGURIDAD PARA ENFRENTAR LO NUEVO
“Christ lives in you. This gives you assurance of sharing His glory.” - ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭
“Cristo vive en ustedes. Eso les da la seguridad de que participarán de Su gloria.” - Colosenses‬ ‭1:27‬ ‭
  • Opposite of Assurance is Fear
  • Fear of making the wrong decision is one of the reasons why one would hesitate:
  • “Perfectionism” can also get in the way.
  • Is this us?  Do we sometimes hesitate in trying something new?
  • Remember, Christ lives in the us - God of new is with us - and HE is faithful.
“I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.” - Philippians‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭
“Estoy seguro de que Dios, quien comenzó la buena obra en ustedes, la continuará hasta que quede completamente terminada el día que Cristo Jesús vuelva.” - Filipenses‬ ‭1:6‬ ‭
  • The assurance to face and try the new is knowing that “God of new” lives in us.
APPLICATION
  • How do you know something new is for you?
  • You sense goodness, peace, joy, & assurance.
  • This is God, in you, letting you know that you can do this — you can try something new.
CONCLUSION
I AM READY TO TRY ANEW
ESTOY LISTO PARA INTENTAR DE NUEVO

OK, I LUV YA
OK, TE AMO

[INTRODUCTION]
  • What a life we have in Jesus.
  • A covenant life – a life of promises.
  • God speaks so many promises - He fulfills them.
  • And through Jesus, we have entered, we are living in, a new covenant life.
  • A Covenant is a…
RECORD OF COMMITMENT
REGISTRO DE COMPROMISO
  • This is something we can all relate to.
  • A Covenant is a record of commitments between parties.
  • For example: Contract to Buy, Rent, or Lease a House; Car; School loan; Marriage License; etc.
  • And when we are in Covenant, we are committed to keeping our end of the deal.
  • What happens if we don’t?
  • Every detail is in the record of commitment – the covenant.

ENABLED FOR COVENANT LIVING
CAPACITADO PARA VIVIR EN PACTO
  • GOD has enabled us for covenant living.
  • He says we are ministers of His new covenant.
  • He wants us to live a covenant life with:

“[Cornelio dijo] ahora estamos todos aquí, delante de Dios, esperando escuchar el mensaje que el Señor te ha dado.” - Hechos 10:33‬

[INTRODUCTION]
  • It’s a fact that the most effective means of outreach is personal - “one on one“.
  • Personal Outreach is when WE invite someone close to us - just like Cornelius.
  • When we invite somebody to church we’re actually connecting them to God.
  • The purpose of each Believer is to connect people to God.
  • We are the most effective means of outreach.

EVERY ORGANIZED ENTITY NEEDS ACTIVE MEMBERS
CADA ENTIDAD ORGANIZADA NECESITA MIEMBROS ACTIVOS
  • “Active Member” - one who participates in reaching out for others to join.
  • The Church lives because of people attending -  & people invited & brought in:
Picture
  • Humanitarian, Social, & Political Groups exist because of “one-on-one” promotion.
  • School clubs / sports continue - word of mouth.
  • For an organized entity to live, exist, & continue, the members need to be active.

THE PURPOSE OF FAITH

El PROPÓSITO DE LA FE
  • Purpose of Faith is seen in Cornelius:
BE ACTIVE
“He was a devout, God-fearing man, as was everyone in his household. He gave generously to the poor and prayed regularly to God.” - Acts 10:2‬
- Hechos 10:2‬ ‭

MOVE HEAVEN
“[Angel to Cornelius] Your prayers and gifts to the poor have been received by God as an offering! Now summon a man named Peter.” - Acts 10:4-5‬
Ahora pues, manda llamar a Pedro.” - Hechos‬ ‭10:4-5‬ ‭

AMAZING RESULTS
“Holy Spirit fell upon all listening…the gift of the Holy Spirit had been poured out…[Peter] gave orders for them to be baptized.” - Acts 10:44-48‬ ‭
- Hechos 10:44-48‬ ‭
  • Faith glorifies God and benefits us and our closest friends and family.

GOD TRUSTS US TO REACH OUT PERSONALLY
DIOS NOS CONFÍA ALCANZAR PERSONALMENTE
“If one person falls, the other can reach out and help…someone who falls alone is in real trouble.” - Ecclesiastes 4:10‬ ‭
“Si uno cae, el otro puede darle la mano y ayudarle…el que cae y está solo, ese sí que está en problemas.” - Eclesiastés‬ ‭4:10‬ ‭
“The Lord will reach out HIS hand to bring back the remnant of his people.” - Isaiah‬ ‭11:11‬ ‭
“El Señor extenderá SU mano para traer de regreso al remanente de su pueblo.” - Isaías‬ ‭11:11‬ ‭
“You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere.” - Acts 1:8‬ ‭
“Recibirán poder cuando el Espíritu Santo descienda sobre ustedes; y serán mis testigos, y le hablarán a la gente acerca de mí en todas partes.” - Hechos 1:8‬
“Mark out a straight path for your feet so that those who are weak and lame will not fall but become strong.” - Hebrews‬ ‭12:13‬ ‭
“Tracen un camino recto para sus pies, a fin de que los débiles y los cojos no caigan, sino que se fortalezcan.” - Hebreos‬ ‭12:13‬ ‭
APPLICATION
  • Who brought you to the Lord?
  • Maybe reach out and thank them.
  • Someone reached out to you, personally, so that you can do the same.
  • God knows you can do it.
  • He empowers you to do it.
  • Outreach — make it personal.
CONCLUSION
PERSONAL OUTREACH — I CAN DO THIS!
ALCANCE PERSONAL — ¡YO LO PUEDO HACER!

TRUE GIVING - “It’s up to me”
DAR VERDADERO-“Está en mi”

“Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” - ‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:38‬

“Den, y recibirán. Lo que den a otros les será devuelto por completo: apretado, sacudido para que haya lugar para más, desbordante y derramado sobre el regazo. La cantidad que den determinará la cantidad que recibirán a cambio».” - Lucas‬ ‭6:38‬ ‭
  • Amount we give determines amount get back.
  • Let that sink in — let’s assimilate that Truth.
  • Our blessing, provision, supply is truly up to us.
  • God is faithful to HIS Word - Luke chapter 6.
  • Our return determined by true giving—up to us.

TRUE GIVING
EL DAR VERDADERO
  • The context of Giving in Lk 5 & 6 is illuminating.
GIVE PEOPLE A CHANCE
DALE A LA GENTE UNA OPORTUNIDAD
ANYTIME IS A GOOD TIME TO GIVE
CUANDO QUIERAS ES BUEN TIEMPO PARA DAR
GIVING IS GODLY
DAR ES PIADOSO
LOVE IS AT THE HEART OF GIVING
EL AMOR ESTÁ EN EL CORAZÓN DEL DAR
“…love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you…Give to anyone who asks…Do to others as you would like them to do to you…THEN your reward from heaven will be very great…The amount you give will determine the amount you get back.” - Luke‬ ‭6:27-38
“…¡amen a sus enemigos! Hagan bien a quienes los odian. Bendigan a quienes los maldicen. Oren por aquellos que los lastiman…Dale a cualquiera que te pida…Traten a los demás como les gustaría que ellos los trataran a ustedes…ENTONCES su recompensa del cielo será grande...La cantidad que den determinará la cantidad que recibirán a cambio»” - Lucas‬ ‭6:27-38
  • How illuminating! — True Giving is up to us.
TRUE GIVING IS FREE-WILL GIVING
DAR VERDADERO ES DAR CON LIBRE ALBEDRÍO
  • God is faithful to free-will giving.
  • It’s Biblical - It’s true giving.
  • “Free-will giving”-positive attitude in giving.
“You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’”‭‭ - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:7‬ ‭
“Cada uno debe decidir en su corazón cuánto dar; y no den de mala gana ni bajo presión, «porque Dios ama a la persona que da con alegría».” - 2 Corintios‬ ‭9:7‬ ‭
  • Focus on the Types of Offerings we can choose from - remember TRUE GIVING “It is up to us”!
Picture
Picture
  • Free-will true giving is going to be a blessing.
  • Free-will true giving IS proves our faith & trust.
  • Free-will true giving IS going to be a challenge.
  • Free-will true giving is possible when based on Jehovah Jireh’s Economy — He is the provider.
  • God provides for everything.
APPLICATION
  • How is your economy?
  • How is your heart to give?
  • God loves you, confirmed when you’re a joyful, free-will, giver — like He is.
“I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and GAVE Himself for me.” - Galatians‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭
“Vivo en este cuerpo terrenal confiando en el Hijo de Dios, quien me amó y se entregó a sí mismo por mí.” - Gálatas‬ ‭2:20‬ ‭
  • That’s your economy. That’s what you TRUE GIVING should be based on - It’s up to you.
CONCLUSION
IT’S MY GIVING - IT’S MY CHOICE - IT’S UP TO ME
ES MI DAR - ES MI ESCOGER - ESTA EN MI

  • Change can be a challenge.
  • The hassle of having to relearn and or readjust.
  • Change of TX to CA was a challenge:  Friendly to Reserved; Humid to Dry; Hills to Mts; etc.
  • When we respond to the challenge of change & adjust - we might even be able to appreciate it.
  • We’re in a time of:  new beginning & change.

CHANGE - GET USED TO IT

EL CAMBIO - ACOSTUMBRATE
  • Change is always with us — it’s part of our spiritual, physical, & cultural development.
  • Especially bad change requires gettin used to.
Picture
Picture
  • Some Changes are not bad - just adjusting.
  • Church:  Online worship; Digital giving; Service time; remember old-school liturgy.
  • Store check-out:  cashier to self-check out.
  • Gas Vehicles to Electric vehicles.
Picture
  • Change is always with us - agree with it or not.
  • We need to get used to the idea that there is always going to be change - get used to it.
CHANGE REVEALS WHO WE ARE
EL CAMBIO REVELA QUIENES SOMOS
  • The context of the book of Numbers:
  • Israelites wander in the wilderness 40 yrs.
  • Sufferings & complaints against God.
  • God-given: Leader; Plagues; Deliver; Red Sea; Daily Bread & Meat; Water; & Word.
  • They want to get rid of first thing God gave them - cuz of change - for the better.

“Then the Lord said, “I will pardon them as you have requested.” - Numbers‬ ‭14:20
“Entonces el Señor le dijo: —Los perdonaré como me lo pides.” - Números‬ ‭14:20‬ ‭
  • Change is occasion to reveal who we really are.

CHANGE IS POSSIBLE
EL CAMBIO ES POSIBLE
  • It happens in us and can happen through us.
  • NOW!  God doesn’t change - WE do!
  • God is perfect - WE can do better.
  • We’re not hardened people anymore.
  • We’re living new life in the Spirit-through Jesus.
“He who is the Glory of Israel will not lie, nor will He change His mind, for He is not human that He should change His mind!”” - 1 Samuel‬ ‭15:29‬
“Y aquel que es la Gloria de Israel, no mentirá ni cambiará de parecer porque no es humano para que cambie de parecer.” - 1 Samuel‬ ‭15:29‬ ‭

“All of us [who live life in the Spirit] can reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord, who is the Spirit, makes us more & more like Him as we are changed into His glorious image.” - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭
“Todos nosotros [que vivimos vida en el Espíritu] podemos reflejar la gloria del Señor. El Señor, quien es el Espíritu, nos hace más y más parecidos a Él a medida que somos cambiados a su gloriosa imagen.” - 2 Corintios‬ ‭3:18‬ ‭

“Since God in His mercy has given us this new way [ministry], we never give up.” - 2 Corinthians‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭
“Ya que Dios, en Su misericordia, nos ha dado este nuevo camino [MINISTERIO], nunca nos damos por vencidos.” - 2 Corintios‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭
  • Can we change? Not only CAN we change but we can minister change to others.
  • So what do you think?  Can you change?
  • With new beginning comes a new attitude.
  • Maybe change is difficult - even impossible.
  • Jesus said about salvation…
“Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But not with God. Everything is possible with God.”-Mark‬ ‭10:27‬
“Humanamente hablando, es imposible, pero no para Dios. Con Dios, todo es posible.” - Marcos‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭
  • I know you can change and help others as well.
CONCLUSION
I AM A MINISTER OF CHANGE FOR THE GLORY OF GOD
SOY UN MINISTRO DEL CAMBIO PARA LA GLORIA DE DIOS

THE FINAL NEW BEGINNING
EL ÚLTIMO NUEVO COMIENZO
  • We conclude our series on “new beginning“
  • It’s important to review what God has spoken.
  • Be encouraged - there is a final new beginning.
Picture
Picture
  • The final new beginning will be the ultimate.
  • A truth we can try to fathom - limited capacity.
“Since the world began, no ear has heard and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait for Him!” - Isaiah‬ ‭64:4‬
“Desde el principio del mundo, ningún oído ha escuchado, ni ojo ha visto a un Dios como tú, quien actúa a favor de los que esperan en él.” - Isaías‬ ‭64:4‬ ‭

“That is what the Scriptures mean when they say, ‘No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.’” - 1 Corinthians‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭
“A eso se refieren las Escrituras cuando dicen: «Ningún ojo ha visto, ningún oído ha escuchado, ninguna mente ha imaginado lo que Dios tiene preparado para quienes lo aman».” - 1 Corintios‬ ‭2:9‬ ‭
  • Our final new beginning will include new experiences in a new heaven & in a new earth.
“Look! I am creating new heavens and a new earth, and no one will even think about the old ones anymore.” - Isaiah‬ ‭65:17‬ ‭
“»¡Miren! Estoy creando cielos nuevos y una tierra nueva, y nadie volverá siquiera a pensar en los anteriores.” - Isaías‬ ‭65:17‬ ‭

“We are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth He has promised…make every effort to be found living peaceful lives that are pure and blameless in his sight.” - 2 Peter‬ ‭3:13-14‬ ‭
“Nosotros esperamos con entusiasmo los cielos nuevos y la tierra nueva que él prometió…hagan todo lo posible para que se vea que ustedes llevan una vida pacífica que es pura e intachable a los ojos de Dios.” - 2 Pedro‬ ‭3:13-14‬ ‭
“I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the old heaven and the old earth had disappeared. And the sea was also gone. And I saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven...” - Revelation‬ ‭21:1-2‬
“Vi un cielo nuevo y una tierra nueva, porque el primer cielo y la primera tierra habían desaparecido y también el mar. Y vi la ciudad santa, la nueva Jerusalén, que descendía del cielo desde la presencia de Dios...” - Apocalipsis‬ ‭21:1-2‬ ‭

“Yes, I am coming soon!” Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!” - Revelation‬ ‭22:20‬
“¡Sí, yo vengo pronto!  ¡Amén! ¡Ven, Señor Jesús!” - Apocalipsis‬ ‭22:20‬ ‭

“How can they hear about Jesus unless someone tells them?” - Romans 10:14 ;
“Personal Evangelism” is when a believer connects with a person to obtain the final result of bringing that life to Jesus Christ.
“¿Y cómo pueden oír de Jesús a menos que alguien se lo diga?” - Romanos 10:14; 1Corintios 5:18,20
“Evangelismo Personal” es cuando un creyente se conecta con una persona para obtener el resultado final de traer esa vida a Jesucristo.

How good are you at homework? Do you do your homework first or leave it for the last hour of the day.
Have you ever had to represent someone or something?
The Bible says that we are representatives of Christ and His message.
And God has given us the task of telling others what He is doing.

And all of this is a gift from God, who brought us back to himself through Christ. And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!”
2 Corinthians 5:18, 20
Así que somos embajadores de Cristo;
1 Corintios 5:18, 20

Jesus + the 3 Thieves
Jesús + los 3 Ladrones
  • Thief 1 – Zacchaeus Luke 19:2-10 / Ladrón 1 – Zaqueo Lucas 19:2-10
  • Thieves 2 & 3 – Thief at the cross Luke 23:32-43 Background of the story Matt27:35-44

3 things in common:
3 cosas en común:
  • Bad Reputation / Mala Reputación
  • They were despised people “marked” by society. / Eran personas despreciadas “marcadas” por la sociedad.
  • They knew about Jesus, but they did not know him. / Conocían de Jesús, pero no lo conocían.

Why pray for the unsaved?
Because we all have a moment where our eyes will open.

Zaccheus was brought to repentance – in his encounter with Jesus after the invitation.

Repentance 8 Meanwhile, Zacchaeus stood before the Lord and said, “I will give half my wealth to the poor, Lord, and if I have cheated people on their taxes, I will give them back four times as much!”
Promise 9 Jesus responded, “Salvation has come to this home today, this man has shown himself  be a true son of Abraham.

Thief was brought to repentance – in his encounter with Jesus almost at the last minute of his life.
Repentance 40 But the other criminal protested, “Don’t you fear God even when you have been sentenced to die? 41 We deserve to die for our crimes, but this man hasn’t done anything wrong.” 42 Then he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your Kingdom.”
Promesa 43 And Jesus replied, “I assure you, today you will be with me in paradise.”

Salvation does not depend on works.
La Salvación no depende de las obras.
Zacchaeus experiences a change and then the desire to have and want more becomes a desire to "GIVE"
The thief never goes to church, serves in church, takes communion, gives tithes or offerings, gets baptized.

There are no impossible for God.
No Hay imposibles para Dios.
For the Son of Man (Jesus) came to seek and save those who are lost.

Conclusion
I WILL TALK TO GOD ABOUT MY PLUS ONE BECAUSE FOR HIM THERE IS NOTHING IMPOSSIBLE.
HABLARE CON DIOS DE MI MÁS UNO PORQUE PARA EL NO HAY IMPOSIBLES.

Come and Visit Soon!
¡Esperamos Su Pronta Visita!
